When long-time music publisher, attorney and talent manager Stephen Finfer agreed to manage the career of songwriter Kara DioGuardi around 2002, a lucrative relationship was launched. The pairing of his talents as an executive with her understanding of the creative side of the music industry were the perfect match in creating one of the top ten publishing houses in the world, according to Billboard Magazine.

With Finfer working from his New York City apartment and his partner working at her home in California, their new Arthouse Entertainment may have seemed doomed. After all, in the highly competitive world of music publishing, most successful companies are global operations with hundreds of employees. In contrast, Arthouse Entertainment was a self-financed enterprise with only two people running it.

Under Stephen Finfer’s and Kara’s leadership, however, Arthouse Entertainment emerged from its simple beginnings to become a formidable player in the music industry. In 2011, Arthouse Entertainment was the publisher of three of the top ten singles sold in the world, including the number one song “Just the Way You Are,” by Bruno Mars. Other honors bestowed upon Arthouse Entertainment included seven Grammy nominations of its Artists in 2012. During its short existence, the company’s artists have received 15 Grammy nominations and the companies songs have received 25 ASCAP and BMI Pop Awards.

Stephen Finfer continues guiding Arthouse Entertainment toward its mission of nurturing and developing artists, songwriters and other creative and production talent in an environment that encourages experimentation and new ideas.
